Kiwanis Club of Sunset Fountain Hills Hello and welcome to Sunset Kiwanis!
If you are looking to join a Fountain Hills service club that will give you an opportunity to make a difference in your community while also having fun and meeting new people, then look no further.
Our club raises funds each year through fry bread sales at the town art festivals, sponsorship of the Fountain Hills Fine Art & Wine Affaire, and also the club's recycling program at the Kiwanis Building. Among other projects, our club sponsors the Fountain Hills High School Key Club which provides an opportunity for teens to learn leadership skills and also to give back to the community through service oriented projects.
Each year our club contributes to a variety of charitable organizations, individuals in need, and worthwhile projects. I am very proud to call myself a Sunset Kiwanian, and I invite you as my guest to attend one of our meetings or participate in one of our service projects. Thank you for visiting our website, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. - Mike Fleming, President
~ In Memory of Bruce Alan Laessig ~
Bruce Alan Laessig, devoted father, son, brother and friend, left this life for another on Saturday, April 12, 2012. In his passing, he has left a legacy of love, courage and determination that will guide the lives of those who loved him and nearly everyone he met during his brief journey of only 44 years.
After selling Signsmiths in 2004, he entered the real estate business, first at ReMax Sun Properties and later at Sonoran Lifestyle Real Estate where his nurturing, helpful nature will be missed by both his colleagues and his clients. Along the way, he participated in the local MLS, numerous charitable efforts and the Sunset Kiwanis Club where he was installed in 2011 as its Vice President.
Sunset Kiwanis has started a Scholarship in memory of Bruce Laessig. If you would like to donate to this scholarship please send all donations to the "Bruce Laessig Scholarship Fund," c/o Sunset Kiwanis, PO Box 17646, Fountain Hills, AZ 85269. The scholarship will be give out each year to a qualified student wanting to continue their education.
